ARDEN + WHITE GALLERY IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE GALLERY'S PARTICIPATION IN THIS YEAR'S UNTITLED ART, MIAMI.
ARDEN + WHITE will be showcasing two remarkable artists from our roster, Marcel Rozek and Gwen Hardie, in the 12th edition of Untitled Art, Miami on the sands of South Beach this December.
Hardie seeks to command a sense of intimacy between the viewer and the subject, inviting the viewer to contemplate the complex emotions that are conveyed through the degree of radiance that changes the perception of presence and atmosphere. Her paintings are characterized by meticulous attention to detail and a deep appreciation for the nuances of light and shadow.
Hardie’s mesmerizing minimalist works, from a series initiated by the artist in 2018, are set to make their first appearance at an art fair in the United States. A standout in this presentation will be a large-scale painting that explores a previously uncharted color combination in Hardie’s latest body of work.
Rozek, inspired by the early abstractionists and Washington Color School artists that came before him executes elegantly layered works through a staining technique that begins with liquefied paint onto raw, unprimed canvas. The nature of the canvas allows the artist to establish a visual logic that is measured in his use of layered, harmonious hues of color that flood and seep across their large-scale, coarse backdrops. He uses rivaling shades and tones of color to create a hypnotic symphony.
Rozek’s presentation will include fresh interpretations of his inaugural white, monochromatic piece, WHITE(MONO), 2023, which was first unveiled during the ‘Between Floor and Ceiling’ spring exhibition along with a series of an entirely new investigation of color.
